Rachel Ainslie, from Gloucester, started Leap of Faith quite literally as a 'Leap of Faith' after 10 yrs of motherhood! Prior to starting a family, Rachel had enjoyed a successful career as a professional dancer.
Determined to use her wealth of experience from travelling the world performing in countless stage productions, she brought her 'Laine Theatre Arts' college dance-teaching diploma up-to-date by re-qualifying in 2010 as a dance teacher (with distinction!) and set about taking her love of dance into schools. With a fitness instructors certificate to boot she soon added to this with a Zumba Fitness qualification and more recently, both a Zumba Kids certificate & Zumba Gold (a modified form of Zumba for less-active or de-conditioned participants plus chair Zumba for those with mobility problems).
Rachel teaches the different forms of Zumba Fitness classes both to the public and within schools and is steadily building a name for 'Leap of Faith' as a trusted independent provider of dance and fitness sessions within Gloucestershire Schools. She has worked with 'Sportivate' via Active Gloucestershire on a lottery-funded health & lifestyle project to engage non-sporty teens in physical activity with great success - so much so that the project is likely to be repeated! This is in addition to teaching Zumba to 6th form students at several of the local grammar schools.
Rachel also teaches fun & educational fitness workshops as an enrichment to the curriculum at primary school as well as ballet, jazz and freestyle dance clubs. Her dance background and professional training allow her to offer schools far more than just another P.E. session and Leap of Faith's after-school Jazzy Dance Club recently performed to rave reviews at a School Dance Festival. Rachel loves the fact that this also allowed children who don't otherwise attend an outside dancing school to shine on stage!
Rachel is also a fully qualified classical ballet teacher with the British Ballet Organization and an outstanding choreographer who's creations are used regularly in school stage productions and other public events.
Mission
To teach physical fitness through dance & Zumba in a fun & inspiring way in order to promote a sense of well-being & self-confidence in young & old alike!
To encourage everyone, no matter their age, body shape or aversion to exercise, to take a 'Leap of Faith' with me & discover
that they can dance, get fit and most importantly - have fun!
